Care Team Ministry Explained

QUERY THE DR. HE’S IN THE THICK OF IT

Dr. would you explain the Care Team’s ministry at Sunday’s AM service, 30 Aug, 2015? It seemed different somehow than what was normally expected. An Observing one.

Observing one, not so different, perhaps, but glad to share my understanding with you. As the Elder tasked with calling The Team to “duty” that day, I asked the Lord for His direction and wisdom of how to proceed (Prov. 3. 5,6). The gospel song “DOWN FROM HIS GLORY” was to call our attention to Jesus who came to rescue His BRIDE, THE CHURCH, FROM the death we all earned by our sin/sinfulness We all have issues that we pray the Lord will speak to and/or minister to. Realizing that we are in a battle involving the body, soul and spirit, a battle plan came to mind. As a soldier, I know something of warfare, and as a student of the Bible I am (still) learning that God, who knows the end from he beginning, has already given examples in His Word to us of how to wage war against all the wiles of the devil. .The following Biblical guidance applies:

I. We are fighting, not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual wickedness in high places.. Our CARE TEAMS are God’s sword bearers, called to duty to wage spiritual warfare. As such Christian soldiers, marching off to war, Paul’s word to us is to put on the full armor of God in order to be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, whose job description/battle plan is to kill, steal and destroy. See Eph 6. !0-18. A commander cannot delegate responsibility but can delegate authority. Jesus delegated to His disciples/soldiers the authority needed for any battle one faces (Lk 9. 1).

II. A SOLDIER’S ARMOR IS OUTFITTED BY THE MINISTERS SET IN THE CHURCH FOR EQUIPPING THE SAINTS, ie.,THE FIVE-FOLD MINISTRIES. THE PROPHET PREACHES THE WORD OF GOD. OUR PASTOR HAS THAT ROLE and HE FEEDS OUR FAITH, HIS PIECE OF ARMOR IS THE SHIELD OF FAITH.

III. OUR HELMET: EVANGELISTS GIVE US A MESSAGE OF HOPE and SALVATION TO THOSE WHO HAVE ISSUES OF THE MIND, SOUL AND BODY. THINK OF THE LADY WHOSE ISSUE WAS ONE OF BLOOD FOR 12 YEARS. She had sought help from physicians who doubtlessly treated her symptoms but not the root cause. She recognized Jesus’ authority and reached out in faith in His authority with a hope which Jesus saw as her faith. As a Care Team MEMBER was seen as Jesus’ Ambassadors, people could reach out to “touch/link” with the team member’s faith

IV. TEACHERS, ALWAYS DIGGING FOR MORE AND MORE TRUTH, equip one with the belt of truth, which supplies a belt that holds all the armor together. The Ambassador of he Lord then depends on the Holy Spirit for total recall (Jhn 14. 26) of all that the Lord has been teaching by the teachers. The Team Member then is prophetically given the ability to hear, see, and feel what the Lord does and all for the same reason and purpose.

V. THE APOSTLES, OUR MISSIONARIES, by their training and experience EQUIP THE TEAM MEMBERS WITH THE ABILITY (THEIR FEET SHOD WITH THEPREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL) TO GO TO THE ONES REACHNG OUT IN FAITH.

VI. THE PASTOR, CONCERNED WITH THE WELFARE OF ALL, IS THE SHEPHERD, LEADING US TO BETTER LIVE AS WELL AS BEING IN THE ROLE OF THE PROPHET. HE EQUIPS THE TEAM WITH PEACE AND PRAYER SUPPORT, AMONG ALL THE OTHER THINGS A PASTOR DOES. Our Pastor anointed the hands of team members for laying their hands on the sick/needy to pray in faith before they were sent out into the congregation. SEE Mk. 16. 15-20.

FINALLY, THE PRAISE TEAM: now fully armored the Care Team can be seen as a turtle, with their shields of faith polished by always praying in the Spirit. With their weapons, the Word of God, prompted by The Holy SPIRIT at the ready, the commander commands, ”send out the turtle” ! Judah(praise,) ie. the Praise Team was to go first when a war started. When they began to play and sing, our team went through the congregation as the Ambassadors of the Lord to minister to those with issues. With the oil of anointing already on their hands they can go to battle with faith and the authority of God. Now, Paul wrote, one who believes the promises of the lord is to confess it unto the desired salvation/healing/deliverance…. (no confession, no salvation? or so it would seem.) Questions or comments welcome.
